Time

Turns out I haven't posted in awhile. Partly because of computer problems, partly because I have been lazy, and partly because I have been embarrassed about said laziness. I've started working out again, though, but it is amazing how long it takes to get back in shape after getting out of shape pretty damn quickly. My running days seem like a lifetime ago, and that frustrates me to no end. Months of pretty hard work have disappeared in...months?? Has it been that long since I have ran? Crap. So much for the whining about how fast it all goes away. Turns out that if you stop exercising and start eating fast food again, you get fat. Who knew, huh?

After being all of the way down to 228 (from an all time high of 275), I am back up around 240 most days. I still have the beard that I promised not to shave off until 220, and everything hurts alot more than it has in awhile. The combination of achiness, general weakness, and hypochondria have me convinced that I may have Lou Gehrig's Disease. I'm hoping to control it with diet and exercise, though, so save the flowers and cards for now.

Bottom line is that I have started lifting and walking again, and other than necessities ($1.99 KFC Chicken Fried Steak Wednesdays, for example) I am eating healthy again. I am hoping to be down to 215 by 7/3, which is 5 weeks from today. Not sure 5 pounds a week can be done, but I might as well give it a try. More to come....

It probably is Lou Gehrig's disease and is definitely not because of anything that may have "accidentally" slipped into your food. Or it could be a tumor.

Hey - that's one of the diseased I once labeled myself with! Yay for hypochondria!

At least you're no longer suffering from Scurvy. heh heh

Based on these symptoms of Lou Gehrig's :

"Difficulty swallowing and chewing impair the patient's ability to eat normally and increase the risk of choking. Maintaining weight will then become a problem."

Definitely not Lou Gehrig's!

but.....

Based on these symptoms, sounds like you may have:
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

"Unable to function, the muscles gradually weaken, waste away (atrophy), and have fasciculations because of denervation. Eventually, the brain completely loses its ability to initiate and control voluntary movement."
